3 The SIS administrator

For the work with and at the SIS integration, the SIS administrator is available.

This powerful tool combines all important features in one surface.

The communication with the SIS is thereby based on a network record whereby the administrator and the integration might be separated on different processors.

You can …

  • generate and configurate the integration. Thereby, the configuration will be carried by the surface of the application. It is not required to edit program codes or something similar.
  • control the integration. You have Access to all records, record files, data mappings, queues and security copies by the SIS Administrator.
  • verify the integration. The SIS administrator receives all notifications from the current implementation by the SIS whereby you can directly observe the work of the integration.

The application is separated in several parts in order to learn the handling easily. The handling concept requires the usage of the right mouse button and a double click for opening elements or invoking features.

The red frame (left top) in the screenshot includes the navigation tree. Here you can find all features and elements in a structured form. The green frame (right top) shows the working area, the data which just have been invoken through the navigation. The orange frame (right bottom) is a global information output. This task is separated in two parts. The local output includes only information which have been provoken by or sent to the SIS administrator. The server output includes all by the server generated messages. This could for instance be communication with the CRM or with other SIS administrator authorities.

Besides these parts, there is a status part (left bottom) and a status line at the bottom application margin. Besides the version of the SIS server with which you just have connected, the status line also includes the online status of the server. In case the server does not have an online access, the regular license verification cannot be implemented and the synchronisation might be stopped.

The navigation tree

The root of the tree is the SIS server with which you are just connected. By using the context menu, you get access to server features and characteristics.

Under the category "Data base", the data are summarised in the SIS data base.

These are:

SIS serverIncludes a list with all servers registered in the SIS server network.
Queue process

Includes the queue for the process implementation. Each synchronisation will be activated by the queue record. Besides the future entries, you have also access to completed orders which then include additional information of the implementation. This node includes the processes as under nodes whereby the displayed data could be limited.

Queue data Services

Includes the queue for the data service implementation. Each saving of a data service (in the CRM or SIS) will be activated by the queue record. Besides the future entries, you have also access to completed orders which then include additional information of the implementation. This node includes the data services as under nodes whereby the displayed data could be limited.

Record processes

All records generated by the synchronisation will be listed here. Entries with a relation to a record include this record as a copy. Therefore, it is evident which starting material should have been processed by the integration. This node includes the processes as under nodes whereby the displayed data could be limited.

Record data ServicesAll records generated by the data service saving will be listed here. This node includes the data services as under nodes whereby the displayed data could be limited.
Security memoryThe security of the available data preceds each writing access on the target system. Therefore, each change is exactely transparent. Furthermore, each desired security can be recovered in order to cancel the change. This node includes the processes as under nodes whereby the displayed data could be limited.
Data image

Each image between two records in different end systems will be saved in the data images by the involved process. Thereby, each process generates ist own images whereby multiple answers are possible. Besides the image, these records also include information about the last change. This will be evaluated by the processes during the conflict verification. These data can also be reset here what is required for instance when implementing data base backups. This node includes the processes as under nodes whereby the displayed data could be limited.

Data service result

If data services need to be saved and the target is not the CRM, the generated data will be saved in the SIS data base. Here you get access to the saved processing of the data service. This node includes the data services as under nodes whereby the displayed data could be limited.

Change memory

Under this node, you can find saved changes which have not been processed yet. This feature will be used by the asynchronous synchronisation which can for instance be used in mobile apps. This is not included in the feature extent of the standard integration.

The server node

Behind the top node of the tree, the SIS server is hiding to which the connection has been established. By using the right mouse button, you can open the feature menu for the server.

Disconnect connection

Disconnects the connection to the server and enables the reconnection to a desired server.
Start process processing

This starts the processing of the synchronisation processes. The feature is not available during the active processing. The automatic start of the processing can be activated in the server characteristics. The process processing needs to be active in order to send the daily status email.

Therefore, the processing of the queue and therefore also the synchronisation starts.

Stop process processing This stops the processing of the synchronisation processes. The feature is not available at inactive processing. Running processes will not be cancelled.
Start data service processing This starts the processing of data services for saving or exporting demands. The feature is not available during the active processing. This processing is not required for the direct invoking of data services from the CRM.
Stop data service processing This stops the processing of data services for saving or exporting demands. The feature is not available at inactive processing. Running processes will not be cancelled.
Send error reportThis sends an error report for the last 3 days to the administrator email address.
Send warning reportThis sends a warning report for the last 3 days to the administrator email address.
Send status reportThis sends a status report for the last 3 days to the administrator email address.
UpdateUpdates the data in the SIS administrator.
Update data base

Changes in the SIS data base might be required when upgrading the version. During the upgrade, these changes will automatically be implemented. If a backup of the SIS data base will be implemented with another version, this update can hereby started manually. Thereby, the size of the version difference is irrelevant.

Characteristics

This invokes the server characteristics in a new window. Through the confirmation of the dialogue, an adhoc license verification will be conducted whereby changed license details could be invoken. This also occurs through the regular license verification.

You can find further information under 2 Configuration of the SIS.

The characteristics dialogue

If you are working with the SIS administrator, you will use the characteristics dialogue at many points. Independent from which areas are affected, the structure of this dialogue is always the same.

The red frame (left top) includes a listing of available individual pages in this dialogue. Through the selection of a page, the main area in the orange frame will display the content of this menu option.

For this, the dialogue has an inline help in the green frame (left) available which includes important hints to the current dialogue.

The buttons "OK" and "Cancel" serve for confirming and saving input or for leaving the dialogue without conducting changes.

After the node "Data base", the options "Connections", "Processes" and "Data services" are following which contain the current instances. Underneath, the option "Plugins" contains all available plugins by which instances can be generated.

The installation resources include configurated templates for synchronisation processes and data services as well as further material around the integration. Besides the data base record, record files will also be generated for each SIS server which can be invoken in the node of the same name.
